No injuries reported after La Joya school bus accident, district says

LA JOYA, Texas (ValleyCentral) — No injuries were reported after an accident involving a La Joya Independent School District school bus, the district announced.

According to a news release, the bus was involved in an accident at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Lindberg Avenue and 2nd Street in McAllen.

Three students were on the bus at the time of the crash, the district stated.

"Please be assured that we are providing support to all those involved and will keep you updated on any further developments if any," La Joya ISD announced in the news release.

This is the third crash involving a La Joya ISD school bus in the past two weeks.

PSJA ISD: Student brings airsoft gun to Ford Elementary

On Feb. 15, the district announced that a school bus collided with a ladder that was extending from another vehicle near 5 Mile Line and La Homa Road.

One student experienced minor injuries.

On Wednesday, the district announced that a vehicle ran a red light on Mile 3 Line and collided with a school bus travelling northbound on Bentsen Palm Drive.

No students were on the bus at the time of the crash, and no injuries were reported.
