New veterans fountain to grace Harlingen's Pendleton Park

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) —  The city of Harlingen is rebuilding and upgrading its Pendleton Park.

Harlingen city officials have announced the Harlingen Parks and Recreation Department is rebuilding the pier and adding a fountain in the pond with red, white and blue lights in honor of veterans.

Danny Diaz, Harlingen Parks and Recreation Director, said the upgrades are being made so the community can have a place to come and enjoy nature.

"So they can come and enjoy in the evening, that fountain is going to be lighted up red, white, and blue, and come and feed the ducks at the pond. Have a great time with the family," Diaz said.

Diaz added the project should be completed in approximately two and a half weeks, weather permitting.
