New details released in deadly Donna crash

DONNA, Texas (ValleyCentral) — New details have been released in a deadly two-vehicle crash that killed a teen.

The Donna Police Department confirmed a 16-year-old died in Tuesday's crash on the 600 block of East Expressway 83.

At about 5:33 p.m., police responded to the crash involving a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado and a 2019 Chevrolet Cruze.

Police say both vehicles were heavily damaged and three teens, ranging in age between 15 and 16 years old, were involved in the crash.

Two teens were taken to a local hospital, where a 16-year-old was later pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the crash.

Authorities announced that out of respect for the family, the teen's name will not be released at this time.

Donna police, along with Texas Department of Public Safety, are investigating the cause of the accident.
