Nearly 4,000 customers without power across Rio Grande Valley

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) —  According to Magic Valley Electric Cooperative and American Electric Power Texas, nearly 4,000 customers are reporting power outages across the Rio Grande Valley.

Wednesday

12:33 p.m. - About 1,852 customers are reported to be without power in Hidalgo County following AEP Texas. In Starr County, 11 customers are reported to be without power; 45 are without in Cameron County, and 732 customers are reported without power in Willacy County.

1:02 p.m. - According to Magic Valley Electric, 1,703 customers are without power in Hidalgo County in comparison to the 64 affected in Cameron County. Additionally, there are 12 outages reported across Willacy County.

Additionally, the City of McAllen released a statement that the Traffic Operations Department is experiencing several power outages due to inclement weather.

  • Main and Jackson 
  • 10th and Jackson
