MXLAN festival returns to McAllen in May

MCALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — McAllen's three-day summer music, arts and culture festival is returning in May.

MXLAN is McAllen's celebration of the past, present and future of cultural influence.

The festival's slogan, "These are our roots. We are the flowers," will be represented throughout the three-day celebration.

City officials announced Tuesday morning the celebration will return with artists, musicians, and entertainment that showcase Latin roots and expression.

"MXLAN is an experience to ignite people's spirit of adventure," MXLAN stated online. "We welcome visitors from across the country, Mexico and the world to be seen and heard at this three-day cultural experience."

Festival attendees will be able to experience live muralists, a breakthrough music stage, an artisan mercado, culinary festivals, competitions and a neon 5k run.

MXLAN will return to the McAllen Convention Center on Friday, May 3 through Sunday, May 5.
