Mission PD introduced emotional support K-9, Milo

MISSION, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Mission Police Department introduced one of its newest members on Monday.

K9 Milo made his debut at the Mission Event Center as a specially trained mental health unit emotional support dog.

"He'll be utilized in a variety of ways," said Officer Hernandez, Mission Police Department Mental Health Unit. "Community events will be one of the main ones. It'll be where people are experiencing the lowest points of their lives. If they need help or somebody to help raise their spirits, we can deploy Milo. He can help provide that comfort for them."

According to the department, Milo has completed his police training, excelling in communication, emotional support, and de-escalation scenarios.
