MISSION, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Mission police have identified the officer involved in this weekend's shooting.
Sgt. Adrian Alejandro was identified as the cop involved in Saturday's shooting. Alejandro required surgery for his injuries and is now in stable condition.
The officer-involved shooting occurred at 10:25 a.m. on Military and FM 494 near Juan Diego Academy, according to Mission Police Department Public Information Officer, Art Flores.
Alejandro was shot and wounded when he traded fire with a person in the area.
The unidentified suspect in the case also underwent surgery and is in critical condition.
The Texas Rangers will be leading an investigation of this case.
