MISSION, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Mission Economic Development Corporation (EDC) on Friday presented a check of $10,000 to Cyco Therapy Bike Shop as part of the Downtown Assistance Program (DAP).
Owner Carlos Solis was one of 10 local businesses selected for this year's DAP awards. Solis said he was servicing a bicycle when he got the call about being selected for the grant.
"I was just so excited because I know I could improve on the shop now," Solis said. "I can get the supplies that I need. I can help out more people with the money given to psychotherapy."
The EDC said Cyco Therapy has transformed a once-vacant downtown building into a vibrant hub for Mission's growing biking community, blending fitness, culture, and community connection.
"They're one of the newest businesses in downtown Mission, and we love what they're doing with the space because they're bringing together the community and activating the downtown scene," said Belen Guerrero Aguirre, Chief Operating Officer at Mission EDC.
