EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A search is ongoing for a family of dogs who were allegedly dumped on the side of the road in rural Edinburg, Yaqui Animal Rescue announced.

Surveillance video shared by Yaqui shows a man driving a red SUV dumping a mother dog, who is allegedly paralyzed, and her puppies from the trunk of a vehicle.

The puppies were shown to be in cardboard boxes that were tossed on the ground.

"How can someone be so evil to dump a paralyzed mother and her puppies in the middle of nowhere," Yaqui asked on social media.

Small rain chances for Spring Break week 2

A time stamp of the video shows the incident happened at approximately 5:59 p.m., Sunday, March 17.

"We have a team in North Edinburg searching for them with a drone," Yaqui continued.

Anyone with any information on the man and/or on the missing dogs is asked to contact Yaqui at (956) 600-4212.

ValleyCentral reached out to the Edinburg Police Department for comment, but have yet to hear back.
