MERCEDES, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Several Mercedes Independent School District campuses will soon be reorganized as part of the district's commitment to future-ready education.
The Mercedes school board met Tuesday to approve the reorganization plan.
Part of the plan includes bringing students and staff from Sgt. Chacon and Sgt. William G. Harrell middle schools to form one unified campus.
According to Mercedes ISD, the consolidation of both campuses aims to bring an elevated middle school experience.
"This is more than a facilities update, it's a bold investment in our students' futures," said Mercedes ISD School Board President Marcos Garcia. "By aligning our resources and vision, we're creating learning environments that inspire innovation, equity, and excellence."
