McAllen School Board approves teacher salary increase

MCALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The McAllen Independent School District 2025-2026 Compensation plan has been approved.

At Tuesday's board meeting, the McAllen ISD Board of Trustees approved a salary increase. McAllen ISD's Facebook and Instagram shared a post stating the following:

$55,300 - Starting teacher salary (0 Years of experience)

$71,789 - Maximum teacher salary (25+ years of experience)

$1,560 (1-2 years experience, annual increase)

$2,500 (3-4 years experience, annual increase)

$5,00 (5+ years experience, annual increase)
*Aligned with House Bill 2 Requirements.

2.5% - Non-teaching professional staff

$0.75 - Hourly staff
