McAllen police seek man linked to burglary, assault

MCALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — McAllen Police are searching for a man in connection to a burglary and assault.

The department's news release said the burglary was reported Monday at a home on the 500 block of East Jasmine Avenue.

The victim reported that there was a domestic disturbance between them and 43-year-old Alfredo Becerra.

The victim told police Becerra attempted to forcefully enter through the home's door but instead gained unlawful entry through a window and proceeded to assault the victim.

A McAllen Municipal Court judge determined probable cause was established to issue a warrant for Becerra. He will be charged with burglary of a habitation, with intent to commit assault, a second-degree felony.

Becerra is described as approximately 5’05” in height, weighing about 200 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. His last known address was listed in McAllen.
