MCALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The McAllen Police Department on Wednesday released its crime report for 2023.

According to the report, it shows a decrease in crimes in McAllen by 2.2%.

This comes as the city has implemented new technology in its law enforcement equipment to ensure the community's safety.

"We integrated a lot of technology, integrated a lot of resources, a lot of equipment, we are operating an intelligence center, we're operating a tag center. The tag alone is 22 different agencies under one roof working together," said Police Chief Victor Rodriguez.
