MCALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — McAllen police have identified the driver of a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred over the weekend.
Dionicio Luna Aguirre, 40, was formally charged on Thursday for the crash that occurred on May 17.
The crash happened shortly after 2 a.m. on the intersection of N. 2nd St. and Nolana Avenue.
Officers reported that the collision involved a Chevrolet Silverado and Nissan Altima.
An investigation revealed Aguirre was driving under the influence when he crashed into the Nissan.

The driver of the Nissan was identified as McAllen resident, 54-year-old Juan Carlos Perez. Perez was pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger of the Chevrolet Silverado was identified as a Pasadena resident, 20-year-old Gianncarlo Corriabustos. He was also pronounced dead at the scene.
Aguirre was charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter. He was issued a bond of $600,000.
