MCALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The City of McAllen Health Department on Tuesday held a free mosquito control training session.

The free training was held at the McAllen Public Library Meeting Center in collaboration with Veseris, a pest management company.

"The city of McAllen has always been very progressive in their forward thinking and providing training for training opportunities for other regions and cities. This is one of those opportunities where we take the forefront and invite them to the city. We provide it at no cost to attend," said Nancy P. Trevio, Director of the City of McAllen Health and Code Enforcement Department.

The training supports all recovery workers who will work outdoors, including those who will be handling debris removal operations, protecting damaged structures, or restoring power.
