McAllen comic store 'catches' Pokémon card thief

MCALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — McAllen police arrested a man accused of stealing Pokémon cards from a local comic store.

Kaboom Games shared surveillance photos of the theft, showing a customer reaching into a display case and leaving the store with cards valued at $1,800.

"We caught a Rattata," Kaboom Games shared online. "If you’re gonna build a Pokémon deck, don’t build a rap sheet while doing it."

One card, a Umbreon VMAX, was immediately recovered and returned to Kaboom Games.

The comic store decided to keep the thief's identity anonymous.
