The McAllen City Commission will hold a regular meeting on January 12, 2026, at 5:00 PM at the McAllen City Hall, City Commission Chambers, 3rd Floor, 1300 Houston Avenue, McAllen, Texas, 78501. Mayor Javier Villalobos will call the meeting to order, followed by the pledge of allegiance and invocation. One of the rezoning requests is for a 21,027 square foot tract of land out of the Missouri Pacific Railroad Company Right-Of-Way, located at 1001 Ash Avenue, which will be rezoned from C-3 (General Business-OC) District to C-2 (Regional Commercial-UDC) District. Another request is for a conditional use permit for a bar/billiards at Lot A-1, Nolana Tower Subdivision, located at 400 Nolana Avenue, Suite G. The consent agenda will include the approval of minutes for the workshop and regular meeting held on December 8, 2025, and the award of contracts for various projects, including the purchase of fire department structural personal protective equipment and the McAllen International Airport parking lot project. The meeting will also discuss the consideration and approval of master contract agreements for general engineering services at McAllen International Airport and the first amendment to the parking facilities management agreement with Interstate Parking Company Airports, LLC. Additionally, the city commission will consider and approve a fiscal year 2025-2026 budget amendment for airport improvement projects and a budget amendment for golf course projects. The city commission may retire to executive session to confer with its legal counsel on any subject matter on the agenda or to deliberate on any subject slated for discussion at the meeting.
