McALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A McAllen-based business has been nominated as a finalist in the annual H-E-B Quest for Texas Best competition.
H-E-B Quest for Texas Best highlights local products made by Texans, ranging from food, beverages, home goods, beauty products, and more.
More than 370 products from across the state were entered into this year's competition.
Only 10 of the 370 items made it to the final round.

Deli Spices’ Birria Spice Mix, created by McAllen native Sully Villarreal, is one of 10 items from across the state to make it to the final round.
The mix is made from real dried chiles and toasted spices to help families cook authentic birria right in the comfort of their home.
The three-step birria recipe includes adding your preferred meat for your birria, water, and the spice mix, with no cooking skills required.
In a news release from H-E-B, the mix has been tested and perfected by Hispanic families to help others cook restaurant-level birria in under 30 minutes.
The top 10 finalists will present their products to a panel of judges on Sept. 25 to determine the top four winners.
The winners will have their products placed on shelves in H-E-B stores statewide.
