McAllen announces cultural arts fall program

McALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The city of McAllen announced its lineup of cultural art events happening this fall.

City leaders gathered Wednesday morning to announce the lineup and celebrate the efforts made to fund and support cultural art events in McAllen.

"The opportunity to elevate and the desire to elevate is something that exists and happens every day in McAllen," said McAllen City Manager Isaac Tawil. "The creative teams here are always looking for new and exciting ways to offer an experience that is different."

The 2025 fall lineup features Fiesta de Palmas, Symphony in the Park at Sunset Live, the Valley Symphony Orchestra series, and the McAllen Broadway series.

"We're creating an experience, we're creating a culture. We're creating a place people want to call home," Tawil said.

Events

  • Fiesta de Palmas, a weekend-long family-friendly event, is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 17, through Sunday, Oct. 19.
  • Symphony in the Park at Sunset Live, a live outdoor concert series, is returning to McAllen on Saturday, Oct. 11. The free concert series will be held on the second Saturday of the month until December.
  • The Valley Symphony Orchestra has released its program for the 2025-2026 season. The first concert of the season, Music of the Greats, is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 7. Tickets to Music of the Greats and future concerts can be purchased online.
  • Broadway in the Rio Grande Valley announced the productions coming to the big stage in McAllen. The 2025-2026 season kicked off in September with The Addams Family, and will proceed with TINA — The Tina Turner Musical, in December. Tickets to TINA and future productions are available for purchase online.
