McALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — McAllen Mayor Javier Villalobos and city officials held a two-day trade mission with officials from Tampico, Tamaulipas, this week, focusing on fostering international expansion and entrepreneurial development.
In the two-day conference, Tampico officials and business leaders discussed the regional landscape and expansion opportunities with McAllen officials.
A seminar held on day one allowed entrepreneurs to connect with experts regarding business formation and registration, market trends and resources available for international companies that are considering expanding.
On day two, a group presented a success story of “MOMOLE,” a Mexican company
which recently expanded its operations to McAllen.
“McAllen's soft-landing program is designed to empower foreign business owners by simplifying processes and providing essential information for a smooth entry into the local business environment," Villalobos stated in the news release. "This program connects prospects with a strong network of industry experts, laying the foundation for success in our vibrant community."
McAllen City Manager Isaac J. Tawil said in a statement that the collaboration with Tampico has marked the beginning of a lasting partnership and the outcomes have been remarkable.
"Tampico has actively promoted its destination at McAllen’s signature events and has been creating opportunities for their business community within our city," Tawil said. "Trade missions like these highlight Tampico Mayor Monica Villarreal's commitment to binational prosperity."
