Man wanted on child indecency charges arrested at port of entry

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A man wanted on charges of indecency with a child was arrested Thursday at Veterans International Bridge in Brownsville.

Ibis Gutierrez, 40, was arrested after officers discovered that a warrant had been issued by the Brownsville Police Department.

"Apprehensions of persons wanted for alleged sexual crimes involving children are among the most heinous that we encounter at Brownsville Port of Entry,” said Port Director Tater Ortiz, Brownsville Port of Entry.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers turned Gutierrez over to the custody of the Brownsville Police Department.
