McALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A Donna man has been ordered to federal prison following his conviction of receipt of child pornography, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
On February 28, Miguel Angel Del Valle pleaded guilty to charges of receipt of child pornography.
In July 2022, authorities began an investigation when Del Valle uploaded child sexual abuse material from his Google account, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Authorities say the material uploaded to the Google account contained images that included minors between the ages of eight and 12 engaging in sexual activity with adults and/or other minors.
He admitted to investigators of downloading and distributing hundreds of files of CSAM using his Google account as well as WhatsApp and Telegram, over an 18-month period that began during COVID.
A forensic examination of Del Valle's phone and laptop revealed 124 videos and 31 images of CSAM. The release detailed, one of the videos found on the devices showed an adult man sexually abusing a toddler.
Chief U.S. District Judge Randy Crane sentenced Del Valle to nine years in federal prison. Following his prison term, he is ordered to serve five years on supervised release.
During his supervised release, Del Valle is to comply with numerous requirements designed to restrict his access to children and the internet. Additionally, he is ordered to register as a sex offender.
