Man on Texas' Most Wanted list captured in Palmview

PALMVIEW, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A Valley resident listed on Texas' Most Wanted was arrested in Hidalgo County, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.

Eliud Perez Reyes, 45, had two active warrants out of two Texas counties and was on the run since December 2024.

Reyes was wanted out of Hidalgo County for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, sexual assault, and assault of a household member by impeding breath.

He was also wanted out of Fayette County for property theft.

Reyes was taken into custody following a traffic stop near Business 83 and Bentsen Palm Drive in Palmview.

DPS says Reyes gave a false name to troopers during the traffic stop. He is now being charged with failure to identify as a fugitive from justice.

Records show Reyes has a criminal history of aggravated assault, sexual assault, and child indecency.
