EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A man was sentenced Monday for a deadly stabbing in rural Edinburg.
Jesus Francisco Ramirez was sentenced to 12 years in state jail after pleading guilty to the murder of Elias Aguilar, records show.
On April 8, 2022, deputies with the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office responded to a stabbing at the 6300 block of Allegiant Street in rural Edinburg. When they arrived, they found Aguilar unresponsive with a wound to the chest.
He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
As part of his sentence, Ramirez was given a jail credit of 2.15 years.
