ALAMO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Alamo police arrested a man who allegedly shot and killed a woman at a local bar.
Jorge Saldana-Gonzalez, 44, is charged with murder in the first degree, according to a news release from the City of Alamo.
At 10:55 p.m. Saturday, April 5, authorities responded to a call regarding an unresposive woman outside Sandra's Bar, located at the 100 block of N. 7th Street.
At the scene, responding officers found a woman with visible injuries that were later determined to be gunshot wounds and blood on her torso, according to the release.
Authorities gathered witness statements that declared the victim had left the bar with a man later identified as Saldana-Gonzalez.
Shortly after they left, witnesses reported that they heard gunshots and saw Saldana-Gonzalez leaving the scene in a gray Ford F-150.
Witnesses at the scene provided investigators with the vehicle's license plate number.
The license plate number led investigators to a residence at the 10700 block of Hernandez Drive in Edinburg.

Police arrived at the location where they located and apprehended the suspect without further incident.
During questioning, investigators stated that Saldana-Gonzalez confessed to the shooting. Saldana-Gonzalez is now in custody and is pending arraignment.
Police have not released the identity of the victim.
