Man dies in Harlingen car accident, says DPS

WESLACO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A two-vehicle accident left one man dead in Harlingen Sunday night, according to a Texas DPS news release.

DPS is investigating the accident that happened at 9:40 p.m. on FM 1479 and FM 800.

The investigation showed a white Toyota RAV4 was traveling westbound on FM 800.  A white Ford F-150 Lariat was traveling northbound on FM 1479, approaching FM 800.

The driver of the Toyota failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign, entered the intersection, and struck the Ford, according to DPS.

The driver of the Toyota died from his injuries at the scene.

DPS Troopers are further investigating this fatal crash.
