Man critically injured in Edinburg auto-ped accident

EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — One man is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle on one of the busiest Edinburg streets.

Police say the auto-pedestrian accident happened around 9 p.m. Tuesday on the eastbound lanes of 1700 W. University Dr.

The victim was transported to DHR Health hospital in critical condition, according to police.

University Drive from Pin Oak Road to Sugar Road is closed to traffic as of 10:30 p.m.

The investigation is ongoing.
