Man arrested with jewelry stolen in Sunrise Mall

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — An 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a burglary that took place at Sunrise Mall, according to the Brownsville Police Department.

On Monday, the McAllen Police Department approached a man who was seen with a vehicle reported stolen out of Brownsville in McAllen.

The suspect ran, avoiding contact with the officers, and led a foot pursuit.

Brownsville PD's Facebook post states that the suspect was found with multiple jewelry items that were confirmed to be stolen property from the Sunrise Mall.

Additionally, investigators were able to identify Ricardo Patrick Emery as the suspect who forcibly entered the mall and stole from multiple jewelry stores.

Emery's arraignment was held in Hidalgo County for the charges against him by the McAllen PD and one count of burglary of a building (State Jail Felony) out of Brownsville, stated Brownsville PD on Facebook.

Emery remains in custody and is pending additional charges.
