Man accused of fatally stabbing partner to be arraigned

MISSION, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A man accused of fatally stabbing his partner over the weekend will be arraigned Monday.

Kevin Lee Gutierrez, 34, was arrested early Sunday morning and charged with murder in connection with the stabbing that killed his partner, 49-year-old Armando Giovannotto.

Deputies responded to the stabbing at the 6000 block of N. Bentsen Palm Drive in rural Mission.

Gionvannotto was found with multiple stab wounds.

Gutierrez reportedly left the crime scene and was located approximately two hours later in La Joya with cuts on his wrists.

He was detained and taken to a hospital for medical treatment.

Gutierrez is set to be arraigned at 2 p.m. at the Hidalgo County Adult Detention Center.
