Make-A-Wish Rio Grande Valley's Wine for Wishes on Oct. 4

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Becky Gearhart from Make-A-Wish Rio Grande Valley discusses their upcoming second annual "Wine for Wishes By the Bay" fundraiser on Oct. 4.

The event is set for 6 to 9 p.m. at The Greens at The Shores. It will feature local restaurants, wine, non-alcoholic beverages, and music.

The event aims to raise funds to grant wishes for children with critical illnesses from Cameron, Hidalgo, Willacy, Brooks, Kennedy, and Starr counties.

Last year, they granted 90 wishes, and this year, they plan to grant 85. Notable wishes include a child's wish to go fishing with his dad and another child's wish to be a police officer.

Tickets are $60 and include all food and beverages.
