Make-A-Wish Rio Grande: Transforming lives with granted wishes

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Make-A-Wish Rio Grande Valley discusses World Wish Month and its community involvement.

The mission is to grant life-changing wishes to children with critical illnesses aged 2 1/2 to 18.

Since 1997, they have granted 1,700 wishes across Hidalgo, Cameron, Starr, Willacy, and Brooks counties.

Community events raise awareness and funds. Upcoming events include "Mornings with Make-A-Wish" at the Holiday Inn Resort, South Padre Island, happening on August 8.

The organization encourages local involvement, including schools, to support their cause.
