Lozano sworn in as Edinburg Place 4 council member

EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The city of Edinburg on Wednesday evening swore in Gerry Lozano as the new council member for Place 4.

Lozano ran against former council member David White in November 2023 and lost.

However, in 2024, Lozano contested the race, and a judge determined there were issues with several votes, and Lozano actually won.

Lozano says the journey was long, but is grateful to be where he is.

"It's the relief off my shoulders, off my back, something I've been looking for for the last two years. So everything that I said like that transpired behind the scenes was revealed to the public."

He added, "I was the type of person that always complained about our city not bringing stuff in and stuff like that. I got tired of being part of the problem. I want to be part of the solution."

Lozano says he wants to hit the ground running and plans to meet with city officials to move forward.
