Local TxDOT prepares for potential heavy rain in gulf

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Texas Department of Transportation crews are getting ready for the potential development of a broad area of low pressure in the Gulf, which could bring heavy rain, according to a TxDOT news release.

  • Crews are inspecting and clearing inlets along state highways of any debris that may impede drainage.
  • Trailers are being loaded with signs and sandbags in the event of road flooding.
