Local organization to host breast cancer awareness walk

SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A survivor walk will take place at South Padre Island this weekend to honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The free event, hosted by SPI Walk for Women, welcomes participants of all ages to join in on the cause.

The awareness walk will take place on Sunday, Oct. 12, at the SPI Convention Center, 7355 Padre Blvd.

Participants can register starting at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, with the walk commencing at 10:00 a.m. and concluding at Louie's Backyard.

The walk will begin at the SPI Convention Center and will end at Louie's Backyard.

Participants will be responsible for their own transportation between Louie's and the Convention Center after the event.
