Local businesswoman celebrates Japanese pop-culture in kawaii-themed event

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A local businesswoman hosted a kawaii-themed event to celebrate Japanese pop culture.

GirlGangMarket, known for its festival-like market event, hosted its Kawaii Fiesta at the Brownsville Event Center on Sunday.

Customers and vendors were seen dressed up and celebrating as various Japanese pop culture characters at the event.

Victoria Lynn Valenzuela, the owner of GlamFlutterLashes and founder of GirlGangMarket, said she has had this idea for months.

She added, that they try to plan a market every two to three months so small businesses have time to bring in new products and new collections.

Valenzuela said it has been a great journey that she has gotten to share with small business owners.
