Democrats draw attack

President Donald Trump was not even 90 days in office and he was already being chastised by members of the Democratic Party, and it’s like the remake of a bad movie.

Democrats offer nothing but foul-mouthed rants, more threats at impeachment and threats targeting Trump Cabinet members and loyalists.

What happened to the Democratic Party? No solutions, just criticism of the Trump agenda, just three months in office and it is obvious they don’t have a clue that the four-year mess Joe Biden created will not get cleaned up overnight.

Now they are jumping on the stock market downturn, yes everyone’s 401(k) took a hit, but the bandage had to be pulled off fast, and the sting will only be temporary.

I know there will be the usual detractors who will never be happy, but to those who hope for the failure of the tariffs imposed on countries that have treated America unfairly I ask, do you root for the failure of our country or will the Democrats in Congress pitch in and become part of the solution?

So far some members of the Democratic Party who embraced electric vehicles now support firebombing the cars and dealerships owned by Tesla billionaire Elon Musk, I guess this is the best the Democrats have to offer in response to the man who exposed government waste and inefficiency, but then again Democrats aren’t used to having their purse strings tied, even if it does save the taxpayers billions.

Mission

Protests noted

This is a reply to Jonathan Jones’ comment that the “people must take control” (April 11). We along with others gladly invite you to take back our country that stands for diversity, inclusion and equity along with economic progress for all.

There are peaceful protests of hundreds of people happening in Brownsville, Harlingen and McAllen but our local newspapers have not yet been reporting on them.

There are local organizations such as Hands Off! and Mothers for Democracy where locals come together to find solutions for the constant barrage of attacks under the Donald Trump/DOGE/Elon Musk administration upon Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, veteran’s benefits, education and so many others. These organizations as well as other peaceful forums are to be found on social media.

In addition, our local school districts and city meetings are also sites for active participation in our democracy as the state of Texas intends to send taxpayer dollars to private schools (vouchers/ESAs) and our cities are increasingly denied local authority through the “Death Star” Law.

Seek our organizations out, as we are here. There are still people who believe in “liberty and justice for all”.
