Address addressed

Donald Trump’s address to Congress on March 4 was the usual: lies, divisiveness, petty promises and the never-ending avalanche of self-adoring pats on the back. And to please his supporters and boost his ego even more, he sticks it to Democrats and former President Joe Biden.

Well-dressed dudes on the right side of the aisle approvingly stood up and applauded his every lie. Mind you, these were the same guys who were trapped inside the Capitol when it was attacked by a herd of hoodlums on Jan. 6. With their own eyes they saw the plunder: doors being busted open, glass windows being shattered and the cries, “Hang Mike Pence,” “Shoot Nancy Pelosi between the eyes,” chilled their spines. They feared for their lives!

And here they are, on speech night, cheering and clapping and praising the man who was responsible for putting them in harm’s way in the first place. Incomprehensible!

Congressman Al Green from the left side of the aisle interrupted the president. What he said was not distinguishable but it did irritate Trump. As soon as Trump admonished the African American congressman from Houston, the rowdy MAGA crowd got even rowdier. They chanted, “U-S-A! U-S-A!” Why this chant? Take a guess.

I viewed the speech for 30 minutes hoping to witness a miracle. Hoping to see a spoiled brat evolve into a man who acted presidential; who possessed dignity, humility and character. No such luck. Instead, he told us that “America will be ‘woke’ no longer!”

Hmm, half of the population in the United States already believes the other half is asleep, so, does this mean America is already 100% asleep? Is this the way he wants it? How convenient!

Hoo-boy, it’s time for Congress to get “woke!” It’s time for a third impeachment! No mas!

Cutting programs

One has to wonder now that we are seeing Donald Trump going wild cutting programs that Congress had to pass bills to create. How can GOP members of Congress just stand by and act like helpless children when they took an oath to protect and defend the Constitution, not the American Hitler? One has to wonder if they will pay the price during the next election for their cowardice of not doing their duty for America.

All I have to say is, don’t blame me. I didn’t vote for the American Hitler.
