BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Southwest Key Program Facility, Casa Padre, will be returning its staff to work following the furlough that took place in March, according to a letter sent out to employees.
"We are informing you of your return from furlough for ORR required training purposes starting April 24, 2025," the letter, obtained by ValleyCentral, sent out to employees from the Southwest Key HR Department reads.
The letter states that if any additional testing or training is required by employees, they will be scheduled to return on Saturday, April 26.
Southwest Key states that the absence of those unable to return to work on the specified dates will be accepted as a voluntary resignation.
The compensation for employees will remain the same as before the furlough and eligible employees will be entitled to health and welfare benefits, which include a 401(k) employer contribution to their retirement account, the letter states.
Employees are expected to report back to Casa Padre, located at 7480 Padre Island Hwy, in Brownsville.
