BOCA CHICA, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Last week's flood storm was rough for a majority of Rio Grande Valley residents.

Luckily, the 48-hour deluge from the sky was minimal at Starbase, and SpaceX didn't miss a beat.

Work continued on the tank farm as the new outfits are critical to getting the new launch pad online.

Crews are also working to bring the new power and communications bunker online as soon as possible.

As the evening approached, we could see large vents from the new sub-coolers and vent stack as they were being tested after their recent installation.

The following evening, testing resumed as SpaceX pushed to get these new systems online as soon as possible.

If you've never been out to see one of these events, they are loud and quite the sight when you're up close.

On Feb. 26, the FAA granted SpaceX a launch license for Flight 8, just six weeks after the Flight 7 mishap.

Four weeks later, the FAA closed their investigation on the previous flight.

The final report cites stronger than anticipated vibrations leading to stress and hardware failure in the propulsion system.

According to the document, SpaceX has identified 11 corrective actions to prevent a future reoccurrence.

As the Flight 8 investigation remains open, the majority of the red tape is out of the way now and crews are now preparing for Flight 9, in what will likely be another space flight historic event.

It looks like SpaceX intends to reuse Booster 14, which caught the booster from Flight 7 for the upcoming flight.

On Tuesday, just after midnight, Booster 14 was moved and lowered onto a transporter to prepare for its journey to the launch complex.

Over the next several hours, it made its way out of Mega Bay One, through the build site, down Highway 4 and eventually to Pad A by mid-morning.

The booster was in the hands of Mechazilla and was raised and placed on the launch platform.

The quick disconnect was deployed for its upcoming static fire campaign.
