STARBASE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Wrapping up the rest of this week's update. Groundwork continues at the new Giga Bay site, while cleanup and new construction are still underway at the Massey outpost.
Meanwhile, huge hardware is being delivered to the launch site. So let's dig into the rest of this week's update and take a closer look.
A crane lifted a section of piping for installation on the pad, a launch mount likely part of the temporary fit-out to make the pad static fire compatible for v2 starships.
Up the road at the build site, a new small work platform was lifted into Mega Bay two for installation as crews continued to fit out the building.
Throughout the week, piling work continued around the new Giga Bay site in preparation for the start of the building of structural footings in the near future.
Further up the highway at the Massey outpost, work continues on the cleanup and the refurbishment from last month's rapid unscheduled disassembly.
The week saw several tanks removed from the site's methane farm, as well as other tanks being repositioned.
The site also saw some new concrete work as SpaceX works to repair damage from ship 36.
A new LR 1300 crane was also delivered to the Massey outpost, where it was later assembled and raised.
On Monday, what looked to be pedestals for new Jib Cranes were brought to the build site and taken inside a star factory.
What appeared to be a new booster, quick-disconnect hood, was delivered to the launch complex on Thursday evening, where it was later offloaded at a staging area at the back of the site, between the two pads.
The design of this article, while recognizable, is different than the hood on the Pad A mount.
In other Starbase news, one of the mega Bay two bridge cranes was seen undergoing a round of recertification testing using a stack of counterweights on Sunday.
The city of Starbase has also announced that recently installed gates across the roads leading into the community are now operational, restricting access to the neighborhood next to the rocket development facility.
