RIO GRANDE VALLEY, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Texas Division Emergency Management, FEMA and U.S. Small Business Administration announced it will permanently close its Disaster Recovery Centers on Aug. 1 in South Texas counties that were affected by the severe flooding in March 26 to March 28.
Those who are were affected in the flooding can still apply for assistance at the DRC's from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the following locations:
Cameron County
- Harlingen Convention Center, located at 701 Harlingen Heights, Harlingen, Texas 78552
- San Benito Parks and Recreation Building, located at 705 Bowie Street, San Benito, Texas 78586
Hidalgo County
- Weslaco EDC, located at 275 S. Kansas Avenue, Weslaco, Texas 78596
- Pharr Development and Research Center, located at 850 W. Dicker Road, Pharr, Texas 78577
The centers will permanently close at 7 p.m. on Friday, August 1.
