La Plaza Mall, outlets to host Earth Day events

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Rio Grande Premium Outlets and La Plaza Mall are celebrating Earth Day in style this Saturday.

The event will take place from noon to 3 p.m. at La Plaza Mall Saturday. Residents are welcome to stop by and learn about the McAllen Shines Program, an environmental awareness campaign.

Complimentary drinks from Starbucks and Yard House will be available for participants.

There will also be a bath bomb station with Lush.

The McAllen Recycling Center will also be giving away coupons for a free bag of compost.

From 3 to 5 p.m. guests are asked to head over to the Kendra Scott store for an in-store event to benefit Quinta Mazatlan.

The aim of the event is to inform guests on how they can decrease their footprint and make a positive impact on the planet.
