LA JOYA, Texas (ValleyCentral) — La Joya Independent School District announced that all eight of its middle schools received a grant to boost college readiness.
The GEAR UP Future Forward Grant focuses on academic enrichment, college exposure, and leadership development. It provides students with academic support, college and career readiness, family engagement, mentorship, and leadership skills.
The schools awarded the grant include:

- Domingo Trevino Middle School
- Dr. Javier Saenz Middle School
- Irene M. Garcia Middle School
- Juan De Dios Salinas Middle School
- Lorenzo De Zavala Middle School
- Memorial Middle School
