MISSION, Texas – Hidalgo County Judge Richard Cortez and Edinburg Mayor Ramiro Garza have given updates on the expansion plans to Zoho Corporation.
Zoho is an Indian multinational technology company that develops and provides a suite of cloud-based business software applications.
Judge Cortez spoke about Zoho’s plans to purchase 1,050 acres of land north of Edinburg. The plan is to build a tech campus there.
Mayor Garza spoke about Zoho’s purchase of the famous old Echo Hotel in Edinburg. The plan is to build state-of-the art offices there while maintaining the existing structure.

Raudel Garza, executive director of Edinburg Economic Development Corporation, said the Echo Hotel has deep roots in Edinburg’s history. He said the plan is to thoughtfully reimagine the property.

We are thrilled to welcome a company of Zoho’s caliber to Edinburg,” Raudel Garza said. “Their investment not only strengthens our local economy but also sets the stage for long-term innovation, workforce development, and opportunity in our community.”
Raudel Garza added that the Zoho project further solidifies Edinburg’s position as a destination for tech investment and high-impact development in South Texas.
