Joint investigation leads to drug bust at Pechocho's drive-thru

DONNA, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Donna Police Department, in a joint investigation with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission Special Investigation Unit, arrested three suspects during a narcotics search at Pechocho's Drive-thru.

In July 2025, the TABC Special Investigation Unit started an investigation after receiving information regarding suspected narcotic sales happening at Pechocho's Drive-thru, also known as El Jakalitito, located at 1241 E. Business 88, according to a news release from Donna PD.

Undercover operations had confirmed employees at the establishment were selling cocaine and other narcotics to known customers, the release stated.

Authorities facilitated separate purchases from the regular merchandise with TABC undercover agents, who were conducting multiple controlled buys.

On Sept. 11, TABC and the Donna Police Department executed a search and arrest warrant at the business.

Investigators seized suspected cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana, other drug paraphernalia, and U.S. currency.

Two employees and a customer were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

TABC is continuing its administrative proceedings regarding the business's beverage licence.
