Jim Collins discusses his Border Texan of the Year award

MCALLEN, Texas – After a four-year hiatus, Border Texan of the Year returned as the official opening dinner of MxLAN, the City of McAllen’s annual culture and arts festival.

Since 1989, Border Texan of the Year has recognized individuals who have made a lasting impact in education, infrastructure, business and public service. This year’s honorees were Jim and Kathy Collins.

The Rio Grande Guardian met up with Jim Collins at the MxLAN Economic Summit. In an exclusive interview he spoke about the award, giving back to the community, and the importance of RioPlex. Here is a video recording of the interview:
