Inside Valley Politics: Texas Rep. Monica De La Cruz on Affordable Care Act talks

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — This week on Inside Valley Politics, Republican Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz joined host Frank McCaffrey to discuss the ongoing government shutdown.

McCaffrey asked the Texas Representative about the negotiations over Affordable Care Act subsidies happening in the lower chamber of Congress. 

“Well, the problem is, is that Senate Democrats didn't start talking about it until they shut down the government and then it was all about the credits.  What you have to keep in mind is these are Obamacare credits," said De La Cruz.

Democratic Representative Vicente Gonzalez also weighed in with his own reaction. 
In the hotly contested race for Edinburg Mayor, Omar Ochoa avoided a runoff by winning the election outright.
