Hurricane Beryl sets its sights on the Rio Grande Valley

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The latest update from the National Hurricane Center keeps Beryl a Category 2 Hurricane as it continues towards the Yucatan Peninsula.

Although its exact landfall is still uncertain, the Valley remains in the cone. No matter where Beryl makes landfall, we are expecting impacts.

The Weather Prediction Center is currently forecasting 7-10 inches of rainfall between Sunday and Wednesday. Flooding will be a concern.

Tropical Storm force winds (39-73mph) will be possible, with a higher chance for coastal areas.

Impacts will be felt as early as Saturday night. It is time to finalize your preparations for the storm. Below is a list of important items to have on hand.
