Hidalgo County to hold virtual auction of merchandise from old courthouse

EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Hidalgo County announced it will hold a virtual auction of general surplus merchandise on July 11.

According to the county, the items are part of the old Hidalgo County Courthouse. Items include tables, chairs, bookshelves, and other office items.

The items can be viewed in person on July 10, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the old county courthouse located at 100 N. Closner Blvd. in Edinburg.

To view items in person, you must have a signed applicable general liability waiver along with a photo ID to be admitted into the property. You will be turned away if you do not meet these requirements.

Interested buyers can register and bid online at Bond Auctioneers and Proxibid.

Once items are purchased, bidders must make an appointment with Bond & Bond Auctioneers to pick up items from the old courthouse from Monday, July 14, to Thursday, July 17, between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

You must have a paid invoice and a signed applicable general liability waiver, along with a photo ID, to be admitted onto the property for the removal of items.

You will be turned away if you do not meet these requirements. Anything that stays behind will be forfeited.

No loading assistance of any kind will be provided. Bidders must load items themselves and bring their dollies, tools, straps, etc.

All items will be sold “As Is-Where Is” to the highest bidder.
