Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office remembers its fallen officers

EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office held its annual Fallen Officer Memorial Ceremony on Tuesday.

The ceremony was held at the sheriff's office in Edinburg, and it honored the men and women killed in the line of duty.

One family member remembers his father's sacrifice and those who put their lives on the line every day.

"It makes me feel really good, not only for my father, but for all the men and women who have put their lives on the line protecting this great state and country. It's just really nice to see everybody coming out and being able to remember and pay tribute to them and never be forgotten," said Jorge Segovia.

Hidalgo County Sheriff Eddie Guerra added that it is important to remember that when an officer gives their life, their family, friends, and coworkers will know that their sacrifice will never be forgotten.
